Hello Readers!
Thank you for your continued patience and support for Her Dreams Matter. Though it has been several weeks, HDM’s editorial team will be releasing multiple blogs about Hearthstone Village.
Her Dreams Matter works with the organization, Hearthstone Village by providing profits from merchandise sales to support the funding of Reveil Matinal Orphanage Foundation (RMOF). After the Haitian earthquake in 2010, members of Hearthstone Village began working with RMOF to fundraise money and recruit sponsors, which in turn financed the orphans’ education and living costs.

This blog will feature Hearthstone Village’s President and Teacher Liaison: Jen Dalton and Nancy McGivney.
Jen Dalton is the current President of Hearthstone Village. She initially developed an interest in working in Haiti from reading books, and always wanted to be involved in an orphanage to support children of all kinds. Four years ago, she joined Hearthstone Village and since then, she has been an avid supplier of ideas for the team, making her way into a vital leader role.
Nancy “Niv” McGivney is the teacher and administrative liaison with Hearthstone Village, and has known the organization for over ten years. Being the main supporter of education for RMOF, Nancy often flies to Haiti to see the girls and hence, she has the most comprehensive knowledge on them, being nicknamed “Auntie Nancy” by the girls of the orphanage. With her extensive teaching knowledge, she often listens in on lessons provided to the girls and gives advice to the instructors there.
These two driven individuals are on the forefront of the fight for education and healthcare for Haitian girls and are encouraging many other volunteers to follow in their mission of compassion and service. They have worked tirelessly with many other volunteer helpers to ensure that in these turbulent times, in these times of fear and sickness, the girls living in the orphanage would still be living in safety and security, without distress and with good cheer.
Finally, a few words from Hearthstone Village’s President herself:
“I’m very grateful that you all are making the Her Dreams Matter project into such a big thing. It’s so great, I love it! It’s wonderful to have such a great team of people working on it. So, I’m excited to see where you take it.”
More importantly, HDM’s editorial team would like to thank you, the readers and supporters, for allowing RMOF’s girls in Haiti to go about their lives peacefully, especially amidst the current pandemic and dangers of Haitian protests.
